Regenerative Medicine in Littleton & Las Vegas

Regenerative Medicine for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Applying too much pressure to the carpal tunnel causes the median nerve to become pinched resulting in many problems that are experienced in the wrist and hand including pain, tingling and difficulty functioning. The carpal tunnel is a pathway that runs from the elbow down to the hand. It is located on the inner aspect of your arm and houses a median nerve and many other tendons. If you have the carpal tunnel syndrome and you do not want to risk the side effects associated with steroid injections or you don’t want to go for surgery.

Hand and wrist problems interrupt everything. You notice it opening jars, then holding a phone, then waking at three in the morning with numb fingers and shaking your hand to get the feeling back. People tend to assume it will settle on its own. Carpal tunnel in particular often doesn’t, and nerve damage that has gone on too long doesn’t always recover after treatment.

There’s no prize for waiting. Getting assessed early gives you more options, not fewer.

Regenerative Medicine for Wrist Arthritis

Arthritis of the hands and wrists is inflammation of the various tissues within the joints. Each joint is made up of tendons, ligaments, cartilage, and other soft tissues that provide cushioning where the bones meet, keeping them from rubbing against each other. When there is damage or deterioration within the joints, arthritis is likely to develop. Usually, the condition progressively develops and worsens over time. Sudden, traumatic injury to the delicate soft tissues of the hand and wrist joints can also lead to the inflammation, stiffness, and pain of arthritis. Arthritis pain can easily become a chronic condition, and becomes increasingly more difficult to treat.

Despite the risks involved, many have tried prescription pain medications, steroid injections, and even surgery to relieve their pain. Now there are advanced, non-surgical techniques to reduce inflammation and arthritic pain. Regenerative Cell Therapy takes healing cells that contains a high concentration of immune cells, healing and growth factors that help not only heal your inflamed joint but also helps to regenerative tissue. This is a same-day, in-office procedure that helps your body heal the arthritis in your hands and wrists naturally, without the need for surgery.

Being honest about the evidence

No stem cell product is FDA-approved for wrist arthritis or carpal tunnel syndrome. Legitimate US clinics operate under the 361 HCT/P exemption, which permits use of your own tissue when it is minimally manipulated and used for a homologous purpose. That is the framework we work within.

The evidence base is still developing. Published studies are mostly small with relatively short follow-up, and there is less research on hand and wrist applications than on larger joints such as the knee. Major orthopaedic guideline bodies do not currently recommend regenerative injections as standard first-line care for these conditions.

What is well established: for carpal tunnel syndrome, splinting, activity modification and corticosteroid injection all have solid evidence, and surgical release has strong outcomes in severe cases. For wrist arthritis, hand therapy and activity modification are the usual starting point. If you have not tried those, that is often the right first step — and we will tell you so.

We are not offering a cure. We are offering a non-surgical option that may reduce pain and improve function. Results vary between individuals. Some patients respond well; some do not.

Any clinic promising guaranteed results for hand and wrist conditions is overselling.

Who this is suitable for – and who it isn’t

Regenerative treatment may be appropriate when you have mild to moderate wrist arthritis; early or moderate carpal tunnel syndrome where the nerve is irritated rather than damaged; tendonitis that hasn’t settled with rest and hand therapy; when you want to avoid or delay surgery; and when you are in reasonable general health with realistic expectations.

It is often not the right choice when carpal tunnel syndrome is severe, with constant numbness or visible muscle wasting at the base of the thumb — that usually needs surgical release, and delaying it risks permanent nerve damage. It is also not appropriate for advanced arthritis with bone-on-bone contact, active joint infection, an acute fracture, or when you have not yet tried splinting and hand therapy.

The hand and wrist are small, complex structures and getting the diagnosis right matters. Carpal tunnel syndrome, wrist arthritis, tendonitis and nerve compression higher up the arm can all produce similar symptoms but need different treatment. If you are not a good candidate for regenerative treatment, we will say so and explain why.

Frequently asked questions

What causes carpal tunnel syndrome?
Pressure on the median nerve as it passes through the carpal tunnel in the wrist. Common contributors include repetitive hand movements, prolonged computer or tool use, pregnancy, diabetes, thyroid conditions and rheumatoid arthritis.

What are the symptoms?
Tingling, numbness or burning in the thumb, index and middle fingers. Symptoms often wake people at night. Over time grip strength weakens and people start dropping things.

Can regenerative treatment help carpal tunnel?
It may help in mild to moderate cases where the nerve is irritated rather than permanently damaged. Severe or long-standing cases with muscle wasting usually need surgical release. We will tell you which category you are in.

What is wrist arthritis?
Inflammation of the tissues within the wrist joints. Each joint contains tendons, ligaments and cartilage that cushion the bones. When those deteriorate, the bones rub, producing pain and stiffness that worsens over time.

Is the treatment surgical?
No. PRP and regenerative cell therapy are injection-based, performed in-office, and patients go home the same day.

How long does recovery take?
Mild soreness for a few days is normal. Improvement usually begins within a few weeks, with continued healing over 3 to 6 months.

Is it covered by insurance?
Generally no. Financing is available through Cherry with 0% APR options.

Do you see patients from Denver?
Yes. We are in Littleton, about 25 minutes from central Denver, and see patients from across the metro area.

frequently asked questions (FAQs) related to Hand/Wrist Conditions therapy

A typical Neveskin session lasts between 20 and 40 minutes, depending on the specific areas being treated and the individual’s treatment plan.

Most individuals begin to see results after just one Neveskin session, but a series of treatments (usually 5-10 sessions) is recommended for optimal and long-lasting results.

Common side effects of Neveskin treatment may include temporary redness, numbness, or tingling in the treated area. These effects typically subside quickly after the session.

There is no downtime required after Neveskin treatment, and individuals can resume their normal activities immediately following a session.

Neveskin treatment offers benefits such as fat reduction, cellulite reduction, skin tightening, improved blood circulation, and a more contoured and toned appearance.

Pregnant women may not use Neveskin, if you are breastfeeding you may get a Neveskin facial, but can not do Neveskin body treatments.

Neveskin and Coolsculpting are both non-invasive body contouring treatments, but they differ in several key ways:

– Technology: Neveskin uses a combination of heat and cold to target fat cells, while CoolSculpting uses controlled cooling to freeze and destroy fat cells.

– Treatment Duration: Neveskin sessions are typically shorter, lasting around 30-40 minutes, while CoolSculpting sessions can last up to an hour or more.

– Temperature: Neveskin treatments involve a wider temperature range, including a hot phase and a cold phase, whereas CoolSculpting focuses solely on cold temperatures.

– Target Areas: Neveskin can target smaller, hard-to-reach areas, while CoolSculpting is designed for larger treatment areas.

–  Results and Sessions: Neveskin often requires fewer sessions to achieve results compared to CoolSculpting, which may require multiple sessions.

–  Side Effects: Some users report a milder level of discomfort with Neveskin compared to CoolSculpting, which may cause more intense sensations during treatment.

Neveskin is a non-invasive body contouring and skin toning treatment that uses the application of cold temperatures to enhance the body’s natural processes.

Neveskin works by using the principles of cryotherapy to freeze and eliminate localized fat cells, stimulate collagen production, and improve skin texture and elasticity.

Neveskin can be used to target specific areas of the body, including the abdomen, thighs, arms, back, and buttocks, to reduce fat and improve skin texture.

When performed by a trained and certified professional, Neveskin is considered safe. However, as with any cosmetic procedure, there are potential risks and side effects that should be discussed with the provider beforehand.
