Exosomes are small vesicles that cells use to send instructions to other cells. They carry growth factors and signaling proteins. In a hair restoration treatment we deliver them into the scalp, so follicles that have gone dormant get the signal to start producing again.
The treatment is done in office and takes about an hour. There is no surgery and no donor area, which is the main difference between this and a transplant.
Most patients see visible change 3 to 4 months in. Follicles regenerate on a biological schedule, not a cosmetic one, and the same holds for the bone, tissue, cartilage and tendon work we do on the joint side. FUE stands for follicular unit extraction. Instead of removing a strip of scalp, we take individual follicular units, the natural groupings of one to four hairs, from a donor area at the back or sides of the head, and place them one at a time where hair has thinned.
Because the follicles come out individually, FUE leaves small dot scars rather than one linear scar, and most patients can wear their hair short afterward.
Transplanted hair usually sheds in the first few weeks. That is expected and does not mean the graft failed. New growth from those follicles starts coming in around the 3 to 4 month mark and keeps filling in over the months after that.
An exosome facial pairs microneedling with a topical exosome application. The microneedling creates controlled micro-channels in the skin, which does two things: it triggers the skin’s own repair response, and it gives the exosomes a path below the surface instead of leaving them sitting on top of it.
The session takes about 45 minutes. Most people are pink for a day or two afterward. Texture and tone change gradually over several weeks as new collagen forms.
